A DEAL has been reached so that the popular Artisan Market in Northwich can continue for the next six months after the original market partnership was dissolved earlier this month.

As revealed in the Guardian three weeks ago, the Artisan Market partnership was dissolved by operators Denise Valente and Vicky Jackson.

Denise, director of Valente Market Company Ltd, will now deliver the Northwich Artisan Market for the next six months.

Cheshire West and Chester Council and Northwich Town Council have met with the company’s partners and a mutual agreement has been agreed to continue whilst a three year contract for a monthly market is procured.

The Artisan Market takes place on the second Saturday of each month.

Clr Stuart Parker, Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Executive Member for Culture and Economy, said: “We know how important and popular the Artisan Market is for the people of Northwich and the surrounding area.

“I am very pleased that we have reached agreement that it will continue for a further six months, whilst a long term solution is being worked out for the future of the Artisan Market.”

Northwich Town Mayor, Clr Bob Robinson, said: “I am glad to see the matter resolved and the markets continuing, which are a great addition to the Northwich shopping experience.”

Denise told the Guardian work was underway to make the next event on April 12 the best yet.

“Northwich is becoming known as the flagship of all markets, and I am very much looking forward to working closely with Northwich Town Council and the Cheshire West & Chester Council to develop the event ensuring it is the cornerstone to other town centre events like the Pedal Power Cycling Festival, the Northwich Carnival and Northwich Festival,” she said.

The next event will feature a local restaurant food court, free Easter egg hunt, fun fair, live music and free tractor and trailer rides around the town.
