SO as well as wanting to become the next leader of the Conservative Party local MP, Esther McVey, also wants to woo working class people to the party.
If I recall my history the last such attempt was made by Lord Randolph Churchill (Winston’s father) in the late 19th century with the offer of establishing Conservative and Unionist clubs across the country, selling cheap beer – some of which still exist today.
What I wonder has Miss McVey got up her sleeve to attract working class voters?
Another dose of austerity? A mark two bedroom tax?
A newer version of Universal Credit?
Miss McVey needs to get real.
The current brand of Toryism is toxic and totally incapable of attracting any class, let alone working class people to its politics.
