OVER the past few months it has become more noticeable of the litter around Leftwich estate usually around bin collection times.

Litter is accumulating on the paths, road and hedges and now in certain parts of the estate bins are overflowing too.

The day after collection the streets will be laced with loose litter - usually from recycling boxes.

Who is letting the residents down when it comes to street cleaning?

Is CWAC not using our council tax effectively for street cleaning services, which we do not see regularly on the estate?

Are we, the residents of the estate, letting ourselves down by thinking it’s someone else’s problem ?

Or is it stretched bin collection teams with no time to pick up loose bits?

Whatever the reason, let’s restore some community pride in where we live.

If litter bothers you complain to CWAC, in the meantime just picking up one piece of litter will make a difference to where we live and sets a good example to our children too.
