CONSERVATIVE council leaders across the country including the Conservative leader of the Local Government Association as well as many Conservative councillors are openly slamming George Osborne for cutting council funding to the bone.
Despite all this Conservative protest, one group of Conservative councillors remain silent and will not criticise the chancellor.
Despite the chancellor cutting over £50 million from the Cheshire West and Chester Council revenue budget over the next four years, not one Cheshire West and Chester Conservative councillor has joined their fellow Conservative councillors in other authorities and criticised the cuts.
The removal of over £50 million from the CWAC budget will have serious consequences for our residents and the services they receive. However despite this, not one Conservative CWAC councillor will speak out against these cuts.
I would remind Conservative CWAC councillors that you were elected to represent your residents, not George Osborne.
Councillor Stephen Burns Winsford Swanlow and Dene Ward
