CLLR Parsons' outburst on your letters page against the Middlewich bypass petition was somewhat unfortunate and very unhelpful.
I'm afraid his vague suggestions that things are happening and commitments have been made are no longer good enough.
Particularly when the other two borough councillors voted against a motion calling on Cheshire East Council to start work on completing the by-pass in the next 18 months.
During the 12 years Cllr Parsons has been a borough councillor, congestion in Middlewich has got much worse and not an inch of Tarmac has been laid on the route of the by-pass.
I remain hopeful that the petition will be debated at full council and I hope that the borough councillors, including the ones from Middlewich, will support the completion of the bypass before any further major developments.
The town is at virtual gridlock and Lewin Street is an extremely dangerous road that needs relief, so this dither and delay over improving our road network must end now.
Cllr David Williams Cledford Ward Middlewich Town Council
