AFTER reading Opinion February 18, I am writing to encourage the members of Northwich Clean Team on their desire to inspire their community to take some of the responsibility for keeping their town and surrounding area clean and tidy.
Middlewich Clean Team is now in its thirteenth year and we have over two hundred members who take a pride in the town where they live and work.
Most of our members look after an area surrounding their homes or place of work. This actually only take a few moments each day, other people enjoy meeting twice a month on group litter picks.
We limit the task to one hour, but last week twelve members came along to help which equates to twelve man hours. We then enjoyed tea and coffee at the Kings Lock which was kindly provided by the landlord.
Middlewich Clean Team works closely with Cheshire East who remove green bags rapidly when they are highlighted.
I would encourage anyone who truly finds litter irritating to join the fight to keep your town clean and tidy. So come on Northwich join your Clean Team it is amazing the difference you will be able to make.
