THE changes keep coming at 1874 Northwich.
Last season’s Midland League Premier Division Play-Off winners now have a new chairman, coaches and players.
A little over five weeks until the club’s return to Step 4, Jack Owen has been installed as chairman, Chris Broad and Thomas Reed have been appointed on new manager Rory Fallon’s backroom staff, while the returning Taylor Kennerley, centre-back Niall Fallon and forward Harry Lynn are the first three new arrivals as part of the team rebuild.

Broad, who previously had a stint as assistant manager to Matt Barnes at Northwich Victoria, will be coaching the first team alongside fellow recruit James Stokes, while Reed comes in as goalkeeping coach having previously worked alongside his boss at Wythenshawe Town.
This all follows promotion-winning manager Chris Herbert, most of his backroom team and numerous players leaving for Vauxhall Motors, while Richard Stockton has stepped down from the boardroom helm due to increased work and family commitments.
"With the promotion back to Step 4 and the appointment of a young ambitious manager I believe that this is the perfect time to take on this challenge and help to guide the club to being established and sustainable at Step 4," said Owen.
"I am passionate about our club, its values, and its role within the local community.
"I believe 1874 Northwich has a proud identity and a strong foundation to build on, both on and off the pitch.
"I understand the responsibility that comes with this role. A football club is more than just results on a Saturday; it is about people, pride, opportunity, and belonging."
1874 will travel to St Helens Town on Saturday, kick-off 3pm, for their first pre-season friendly.
Meanwhile, Midland League promotion chasers Northwich Victoria have confirmed that strikers Kieran Hamm and Mama Djabi have signed on again for the 2026-27 season.
Vics will be in friendly action against Old Altrinchamians FC in Sale on Saturday, 3pm, and then Abbey Hey in Gorton on Tuesday, 7.30pm.
Northwich Victoria Reserves, who are playing in Cheshire League Division One this upcoming season, are recruiting players who are looking to progress to the first team.
Trials take place at Moss Farm Leisure Complex on Thursday, 7.30pm to 9pm; Saturday, 10.30am to noon and next Tuesday (July 7), 7.30pm to 9pm.
