A NUMBER of 1874 Northwich players have followed Chris Herbert to his new club Vauxhall Motors.

The promotion-winning manager exited the club last week, with Mark Reed (head coach) and Mark Corbett (goalkeeper coach) joining him on his new journey.

Since then, five members of the 1874 Northwich squad which won promotion to Northern Premier League West for the 2026/27 season have reunited with Herbert at the Premier Jet Stadium.

They include midfielder Jacson Coppack, who has been instilled as Vauxhall Motors club captain.

Three of the others are former Vauxhall players returning to old stamping ground – defender Adam Hughes, midfielder Haydn Cooper and goalkeeper Jack Atkinson.

And the fifth ‘steal’ is forward Josh Oultram.

VICS have announced the signing of two former Witton Albion strikers.

Joe Duckworth, the brother of manager Lee, and Elliot Rokka are on board for the 2026/27 season.

Duckworth has a proven track record of finding the back of the net and a wealth of experience playing higher up the non-league pyramid, having had spells with FC United, Bury, Stalybridge Celtic as well as Witton, where was captain last season, and Winsford United.

Lee Duckworth said: "We knew we were losing a couple of players in forward areas to retirement and pastures new so it was on my radar early.

“I’d tried to get Joe to come before so when he finally agreed it was a fantastic opportunity to bring him to the club.

"He’s been scoring goals at non-league level since he was 16 and shows the club intends to continue to build on the foundations of last season.

“A player that could comfortably have signed somewhere two leagues higher!

“He can operate with quality in a number of positions, as well as having that desire to get goals. I’m sure he will quickly be a fans favourite and talisman.

"He captained in the league above and scored a lot of goals for Witton so it’s a real coup to bring him in so he can get himself enjoying his football again in the right frame of mind. I’m excited to see him in green.”

Former Manchester United Academy talent Rokka also brings a wealth of higher level experience to Vics.

He has had time at Tranmere Rovers, Runcorn Linnets, Macclesfield Town, Atherton Collieries and Stalybridge Celtic.

Lee Duckworth said: “He’s a creative attacking player who can unlock any defence and will provide a fear factor to many defences next season.

“He plays with a smile on his face and gets supporters on their feet. It’s testament to the direction of the club that we can attract someone of Elliot’s calibre this season.

“Last season we fell short in the final third as part of the run in, the signings of Joe and Elliot are part of us addressing that to assist with the talented forward players who remain at the club."

Vics have also announced the appointment of Scott Lycett as an assistant manager.

Witton Albion

WITTON have confirmed that Danny Kerr will be in their ranks again next season.

The combative midfielder joins the club from Winsford United.

He spent time with Witton last season on dual registration and made three appearances, scoring one goal.
