THERE was disappointment in the Northwich Victoria camp that they did not pick up all three points in the Boxing Day 'derby'.

The Midland League leaders led from four minutes into the second half through Will Lloyd until Jacson Coppack's stunning equaliser for 1874 Northwich 30 minutes later forced a sharing of the spoils at the Apec Taxis Stadium, Runcorn.

"It's disappointing not to win the game," said Vics' player-of-the-match and midfield dynamo Lloyd.

"I thought we'd done enough to win the game, having dominated the whole game.

"Their lad scored a great goal for them, probably the only chance they had all a game.

"After we'd got our goal, we had a few chances where we should have won the game really.

"I think the lads know that. It's what we've spoken about, taking chances and being a bit more clinical.

"So it's disappointing not to win, but a proper 'derby' game, great crowd, great atmosphere."

Vics have a run of home games on successive Saturday's to start the new year, welcoming Lye Town first on January 3, then AFC Wolverhampton City and Romulus.

"We've got a few 'easier' fixtures in terms of looking at the table and saying 'they're easier'," said Lloyd.

"Hopefully we can get some points on the board and take advantage of being at home."

Saturday's clash with sixth-placed Lye Town is to kick off at 3pm.
