WITTON Albion seem to be stuck with attempting to keep the wolf from the door at the moment.
Their 2-1 loss at lowly Wythenshawe Town on Saturday was followed by a point earned at mid-table Kidsgrove Athletic on Tuesday.
This week’s results leave them 17th in Northern Premier League West, just two points clear of the relegation zone.
Ben Harrison’s men could do with picking up more points quickly and play host to 15th-placed Clitheroe at the U Lock It Stadium on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
Frontman Tom Hoyle opened the scoring in the 70th minute at Kidsgrove.
He turned the ball home after it came to him across the box.
Nine minutes later, though, the hosts were level.
Jack Bromfield found the net after Isaac Phillips headed across goal.
Midland League leaders Northwich Victoria have confirmed a rearranged fixture for Tuesday.
Vics, who have no game this week, will host Tividale at Apec Taxis Stadium in Runcorn, kick-off 7.45pm.
Eighth-placed 1874 Northwich, without a game since their 4-1 loss at Hanley Town in the Midland League Cup on October 21, return to action in the Midland Premier at ninth-placed Whitchurch Alport on Saturday, 3pm.
Games are scarce for Chris Herbert’s side at the moment though, with their next outing after Whitchurch being their home clash with Tividale on Saturday, November 15.
Meanwhile, Winsford United, who currently sit sixth on the Midland Premier ladder, head to 10th-placed Lye Town on Saturday, 3pm.
Barnton progressed to the Edwards Case Cup second round thanks to two saves from keeper Oliver Brockbank during the penalty shoot-out at Wolverhampton Sporting Community on Tuesday night.
Gerald-Junior McCullion’s strike in added time at the end of the first half wiped out Wolverhampton’s 34th-minute lead via Ryan Moulton.
The game ended 1-1 and then the Villagers prevailed 4-2 on penalties.
Barnton have confirmed their visit to Gresty Road to tackle Crewe Alexandra in the Cheshire Senior Cup first round will be played on Thursday, November 13 at 7.30pm.
