NEW Witton Albion manager Jon Macken has gone on a signing spree as he reshapes his squad for the new campaign.

Eight signings have been confirmed over the past week, including several familiar faces.

Two of his new additions have had spells at the U Lock It Stadium before, with midfielder Prince Haywood and defender Mike Koral returning as Albion prepare for life in the Northern Premier League’s West Division.

Ghanian midfielder Haywood left Witton to join Macken at Radcliffe ahead of the 2018-19 season while Koral was last with Witton in 2015 and has since enjoyed an excellent spell with neighbours 1874 Northwich, making more than 100 appearances.

Three more former 1874 players have also joined in the shape of full-back Jack Tinning, defender Lee Jackson and striker Joe Duckworth.

All three arrive having helped their last clubs to silverware last season, with Tinning a big part of the Warrington Rylands squad that won the NPL West title while Jackson aided Macclesfield’s promotion from the North West Counties League Premier Division.

Duckworth, who will also be familiar for a prolific spell at Winsford United, joins having helped FC United of Manchester lift the Fenix Trophy, beating clubs from around Europe in the process.

Macken’s other two new additions – goalkeeper Ollie Martin and midfielder Kingsley Williams – are both familiar to him from spells at former clubs Radcliffe and Colne.

Williams captained the Radcliffe side that won promotion to the NPL Premier Division under Macken during 2018-19 while in the same season, Martin earned the young player of the year award.
