WITTON Albion's unbeaten seven-game sequence remains intact.

Will Igoe's 72nd-minute strike earned them a share of the spoils 2-2 at lowly Glossop North End in Northern Premier League West.

Albion, who went into the game eighth on the ladder, never led.

The third-bottom hosts, who had volunteers working on the pitch this morning after heavy overnight rain to ensure the game went ahead, went in front through Jacques Etia after 32 minutes.

Witton's leveller came just at the right moment, a minute into added time at the end of the first half.

A lovely through ball from Connor Hughes found Joe Duckworth, who calmly chipped the keeper.

Glossop got their noses in front again when Sekuba Sanogo netted in the 65th minute.

But Igoe, a 59th-minute sub for Duckworth, got the all-important leveller with a shot from the edge of the box after fine work by Elliot Rokka.

Elsewhere, Northwich Victoria achieved a hard-earned point at home against high flyers Wythenshawe Town.

The game finished 0-0 but both sides had chances to seal the points in the North West Counties League Premier Division.

Steve Wilkes lost the services of Alex Bennett and Joe Camozzi during the game due to injuries.

Bennett left the U Lock It Stadium to go to hospital with the knee injury he sustained.

Vics keeper Ryan Hamer was in brilliant form and came to his side's rescue on numerous occasions, particular in the second half.

One double sequence midway through the second half particularly stood out, with Hamer flying across goal to tip the second shot over the bar.

Matt Dudley fluffed his words at the end when he could have won the game for Vics.

Ryan Jackson headed the ball across goal but Dudley missed with his effort to hit the ball home.

And at the start of the second half Ash Dunn found himself one on one with the visiting keeper but his effort was blocked.

Meanwhile, Barnton were defeated 3-2 at Rocester in North West Counties League First Division South.

Adam Moseley struck in the 13th minute to get Barnton back on level terms after Thomas Mellor had put the hosts in front three minutes earlier.

But Rocester took command before the break, netting again through Tom Brown (30) and Logan Toplis (45+4).

Ross Avies pulled a goal back for Barnton in the 65th minute but they were not able to find another equaliser.

Scheduled matches for 1874 Northwich and Winsford United were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
