MATT Farr believes Witton Park will grow from last weekend's narrow victory over Heaton Moor.

A tense battle between teams who went into the clash as the top two in the league was edged 7-5 thanks to a 70th-minute try from forward Harry Stubbs on his return to the side.

Now Winnington Park head to Didsbury on Saturday looking for a fifth successive win.

“We needed to show our strength and composure against some of the stronger sides in this league and we got the result,” said head coach Farr.

“However, we did not stick to the game plan under pressure and it was only for the older members of the team showing the younger players how to manage the pressure particularly when the referee is giving you no favours.

“The team will develop from this win and we can reflect on a job done.”
