WINNINGTON Park could not prevent Knutsford from extending their lead at the top of the table last weekend.

Paul Stackhouse was on target for the Northwich-based side, while Graeme Wolfenden netted a hat-trick for the hosts in a 3-1 win.

Bragging rights went Winnington’s way though when the two clubs’ second teams met at Sir John Deane’s College, where Dan Connah scored the only goal.

George Hudson was picked as Park’s player of the match.

Winnington’s thirds were denied a share of the spoils when Neston’s sevenths netted a late winner in their meeting.

Park had conceded twice inside the opening 10 minutes before goals from Martin McGregor and Ryan Crouchley, who fired through a crowded circle, restored parity.

Meanwhile star turn Liam McKee scored a hat-trick for Winnington’s fourths in a 5-1 win against Neston's eighths the same day.

Tony Taig also found the net from a short-corner, and Alex Goldie’s reverse-stick strike completed a fine afternoon’s work.

They sit third in the table, three points adrift of Warrington seconds ahead of them.

Park's first and second teams train every Tuesday, from 8.30pm, at Sir John Deane's College.

The club's under 16s, along with the men's third and fourth teams, practice on Wednesday at the same venue from 7.30pm.
