TEAMS with ambition to play in the Northwich and District League’s top-flight next season are scheduled to meet when the current campaign resumes on Wednesday.
Owley Wood B, second in the Division Two table at the turn of the year, travel to Lion A, who sit third.
The rivals, both giving chase to leaders Castle C, are separated by a single point.
The Moulton-based side, victors by the odd frame in September, will be hoping to record a double.
Greenbank A and Barn Owl B are four points adrift of a promotion place, and they clash on the same night.
In Division One, Gladstone C start 2018 with a six-point lead over Castle D.
The pace-setters will be favourites to see off second-bottom Gladstone A, while last year’s champions face a trickier test at home to fourth-placed Barn Owl E.
Back-markers Rudheath visit Castle A.
Broken Cross enter the New Year as favourites to take the Division Three title after establishing a seven-point lead.
They welcome Witton Chimes A on Wednesday night, when second-placed Iron Bridge A entertain Moulton Legion.
Iron Bridge H, who have an eight-point gap to close on their clubmates after losing a head-to-head in the final fixture before Christmas, head to in-form Slow & Easy – victors in their past five league games.
The Lostock Gralam side have won their past five league games.
