VICS' recovery bid is gathering genuine pace.
They were (eventually) too good for dreadful Droylsden and move to within six points of the safety spots with a second successive away day victory.
Nine goals in three matches is proof enough they are rising from a season-long slumber.
This was a win borne of patience and sheer persistence.
Behind at the break following Michael Welch's inexplicable rush of blood, Dino Maamria's men rallied to blow away their opponents thereafter.
Two more goals for Lee Steele (well one and a half really) sealed a stirring second half display.
The mood was a different one at half time though.
Welch slid clumsily into Jamie McGuire on 10 minutes to concede a silly spot kick, despatched in emphatic fashion by Steve Daly.
Shaken, Vics struggled to turn their possession into an equaliser.
Debutant Darryn Stamp and Jamie Mullan both directed efforts straight at Paul Phillips with head and then foot.
The visitors had good cause to clamour for a penalty of their own on 26 minutes.
Steele ghosted onto Michael Byrne's superb pass in the left channel and squared for Mullan who, instead of shooting first time, delayed long enough for Phillips to flick his standing leg from under him. No penalty was referee Andy Henley's verdict.
Stamp then missed a sitter.
With the goal at his mercy, his shot trickled against the post from Welch's assist after Cortez Belle had rose highest to meet Josh Wilson's free kick.
Byrne matched his teammates profligacy seconds later.
Joel Byrom sent over a cross so perfect it begged to be converted yet, bizarrely, Byrne missed the ball completely as he charged in at the back post.
Vics' finishing went from fitful to fantastic after the interval.
Byrom swapped passes with Stamp to race clear on 50 minutes only for Phillips' brilliant block to deny him.
The outcome was different seven minutes later.
Belle helped on Wilson's centre to Steele and he hammered an unstoppable shot past the keeper at his near post.
Relief relaxed the visitors after that.
Byrom spanked home a stunning second on 64 minutes, fizzing in a drive so violent it had hit the net before Phillips' dive had hit the ground.
Droylsden doubled their agony within a minute as Daly's foolish lunge at Ryan Brown earned him a second caution.
A third Vics goal came as a surprise to nobody.
Jamie Mullan's centre was met on the volley by Steele's right boot and helped over the line by a decisive deflection by Karl Munroe.
Sensing a treble, Steele then unselfishly set up Byrom who should have done better than shoot tamely at Phillips from six yards.
Sub Aaron Burns sprinted on t Byrom's assist only for the Bloods' custodian to smother smartly before he could get his shot away.
Star Man: Joel Byrom - Head and shoulders above every other player on the pitch. Scored a goal of genuine beauty but that was merely the cap on a superb display by the former Clitheroe man. Able to venture forward thank to Josh Wilson's deployment as his midfield minder, Byrom was able to conjure and create in the space in front of Droylsden's back four. His best game in a green shirt to date.
