WITTON Albion will have felt a mixture of emotions following a draw with Matlock Town in the Northern Premier League.
Goals from Rob Hopley and Paul Williams before the break twice established a lead for Carl Macauley’s men, only for the Gladiators to lead 3-2 after a rally at the start of the second-half.
Tom Owens rescued a point for Carl Macauley’s men.
In the North West Counties League, 1874 Northwich extended a winning sequence in all competitions to six matches thanks to Scott McGowan’s strike against West Didsbury & Chorlton.
Northwich Victoria’s surge was halted by a 4-2 defeat at Runcorn Linnets, while Winsford United were well-beaten by City of Liverpool.
Barnton could not follow their first Premier Division victory of the campaign with another, and went down 2-1 at home to 10-man Burscough.
Dom Johnson was a match-winner for Lostock Gralam at leaders Styal in Cheshire League One, propelling the Grey Lambs above Windle Labour – their conquerors last time out – in the table.
Outstanding team performance against the league leaders. A hard fought 3 points for the grey lambs @simmo_on_sport

There were wins in the Northern Cup for Cuddington, Over 3 Grange and Winsford Saxons – who did not have to kick a ball after scheduled opponents Bickerstaffe reserves conceded.
Unfortunately our game on Saturday has been cancelled due to Bickerstaffe Res being unable to field a team. On the plus side we’re through to the last 32
