AMY Hinchly again caught the eye in Vale Royal Athletics Club’s colours at Saturday’s McCain UKA Cross Challenge second round.
The 14-year-old placed ninth in the U15s girls’ race at Sefton Park, in Liverpool, to record the Knights Grange-based club’s best result of the day.
She has already impressed at the English Cross Country Association (ECCA) national relays earlier this month, running one of the fastest splits of the day.
Her younger brother, Josh, was among the first 30 finishers in the U13s boys’ class at the weekend too.
Elliot Bowker narrowly missed out on a top 10 position in the U17s boys’ race, while Vale Royal’s Katie Gerrard was 17th in the U17s girls’ category.
Matthew Sheen (U17s boys) and Caitlin Dimmick (U13s girls) were others to cross the line inside the first 30 in their respective age groups.
Tessa McCormick was 27th fastest in the U20s women’s race.
