Match pointers
WITTON face their toughest test of the season so far when they travel to second-placed North Ferriby United tomorrow, Saturday.

The Villagers are the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division’s form team after winning six of their past seven matches, amassing more points than anybody else in the same period.

Only Ashton United have scored more often to date than Billy Heath’s men, who also boast the section’s meanest defence with eight goals conceded.

North Ferriby have lost at home only to last year’s champions Chester since February too.

The hosts are without suspended skipper Paul Foot, so Mark Gray is likely to continue alongside Gregg Anderson in defence.

Fit again Ryan Kendall challenges Gary Bradshaw and Jack Muldoon for a place in attack.

The visitors protect an unbeaten run on the road in the league that extended to 18 matches following Tuesday’s 2-1 success at Fylde, a sequence that started last November.

It leaves them three points from top spot in the table.

Full back Anthony Gardner is fit enough to return, so manager Brian Pritchard may reshuffle his back four after Paul Booth filled in there in midweek.

Midfield tandem Steven Connors and Joe Shaw continued their recovery from injury with an appearance in Witton’s reserve team encounter with Kendal last night, Thursday, but both are not yet ready to return.

Steve Foster, who has returned to Wincham on loan from Chorley this week, will travel though.
