NORTHWICH Victoria have added to their attack for the forthcoming campaign by signing former Boston United front man Ollie Ryan.

He agreed terms with the Evo-Stick League Premier Division newcomers on Friday.

The 24-year-old did feature for Andy Preece’s men in their friendly reverse at home to Accrington Stanley last month, only to then accept the offer of a trial at lower-ranked Chester FC.

But he returned to Vics’ starting line-up, scoring the opening goal, for their midweek draw at Kidsgrove Athletic.

He is no stranger to scoring goals in the Northern Premier League either, finding the net 22 times for Boston the season before last.

That earned the former Lincoln City junior a move to Blue Square North basement dwellers Harrogate Town last term, but he failed to make an impact and was released.

Ryan was not the only one to sign for Northwich before yesterday’s final warm up match at Skelmersdale United.

Northwich Villa pair Craig Flowers and Kwame Barnett, on target in Tuesday’s 3-3 draw at Leek Town, have penned non-contract deals too.

And manager Preece does not intend to stop there after making former Bootle striker Andy Fowler an offer too.

The ex-Everton forward will give his verdict later this week.
