RACING team Pete Founds and Jevan Walmsley achieved two first-place finishes in their class at a recent round of the British Sidecar Championship.
After what could be considered a fairly sparse season of racing for F2 rider Founds and passenger Walmsley, the pair were on track at the coastal circuit of Anglesey.
With the championship predominantly consisting of the longer F1 sidecars, wildcards for the shorter F2 sidecars have always been available.
Rain across all of Saturday meant it was wet tyres all the way.
A 10-minute warm-up session saw the No72 Team Founds Honda being fastest F2 and brilliantly fourth overall.
Qualifying was a similar story with Founds, who lives in Northwich, and Walmsley showing great pace in the wet to secure fifth place overall on the grid.
The first race was planned for late on Saturday afternoon, but due to delays and a circuit noise curfew, it was delayed until Sunday morning.
What started as a dry Sunday soon changed to rain so it was wet tyres for the teams.
As the lights went out, Founds made a great start and was up to fourth by the first corner and was more than holding his own amongst the F1 bikes.
But the fourth-placed F1 soon got past, demoting Founds and Walmsley to fifth but that was where the action reduced and the No72 Honda had a fairly lonely race from then on.
Because Founds was quicker than the other F2s and many of the F1s, he maintained his place and took first in class.

With the second race taking place only around two hours later, the teams did not have much time to get their bikes ready, but with only a few changes required on TF72, the guys were ready in great time.
Race two was almost a carbon copy of race one, with the action being at the front with a great F1 battle.
Again Founds and Walmsley had somewhat of another lonely race, but they showed they have not lost any of their pace and were equal if not quicker than many of the F1 bikes.
Two class wins was a great achievement and the team are considering a number of other races before the season finishes.
