Mid Cheshire League Premier

WHARTON BC A picked up their first maximum score of the season when winning their home game against Kingswood 210-81.

They have won all 12 of their games this season, placing them firmly at the top of the Premier. Ashley Blackburn had the best result, 21-2, in this latest outing.

Frodsham Red Lion had seven winners, including John Rawlinson 21-10, in their 165-199 victory at Kingswood.

Castle Sports A played at home to their B team, who did them no favours by taking three wins in a 185-153 loss. Castle fell short of the 200-plus they might have hoped for and it was B bowler Lee Lynch with the best return, 21-5.

Third place Victoria A visited Barnton Club A where both teams had five winners but it was Victoria who walked away with the win 167-186. Victoria’s Simon White shone with 21-5.

Comberbach A gave Crewe PO chances of finishing in fourth place a knock as they beat them at home 188-149. Dan Moores had the best result 21-6 for the hosts.

Rudheath A played at home against Owley Wood A and both teams managed five winners. Rudheath came out on top 184-163 and their bowler Glyn Walton was the star performer with 21-6.

A surprising result as 11th placed Shavington A had eight winners at home to Frodsham Red Lion A, a team fighting for fourth place. Shavington won the game 182-150 while home bowler Adam Bloor and Frodsham’s Yan Wakefield shared the best result 21-6.

Section One

Rudheath Bowls B won their home fixture against Comberbach B 200-173. Rudheath bowler Nigel Massey had the best result 21-11.

Castle Sports D played Castle Sports C at home, but it was Castle C that won the match 162-185 and kept their chances of joining their A and B teams in the Premier next year. Castle D bowler David Tomkinson had the best result 21-10.

Victoria B had eight winners in their 204-112 home win against Barnton CC B. Victoria bowlers Andy McMullen, Bill Danford, and Lawrence Richardson shared the best result 21-5.

Frodsham Red Lion B welcomed Crosstown to their green. Frodsham had seven winners in their 196-128 victory, the best being Jason Bate 21-4.

Owley Wood B had eight home winners in their 191-149 victory against Moulton RBL A. Owley bowler Paul Turnbull had the best card 21-6.

Section leaders Wharton BC B travelled to Meadowbank A. Although both teams had five winners it was Wharton who won 162-186, keeping their promotion chances on track. Wharton Bowler Gareth Hughes had the best result 21-8.

Section Two

Helsby B played at home against Tarporley A. Helsby had six winners in their 197-151 victory with Colin Wass’ 21-4 the stand-out.

Section Three

Winnington A had seven winners in their 200-124 home win against Fern Villa BC. Winnington bowlers Phil Hulse and Fred Day shared the best result 21-5.

Barnton CC C welcomed Delamere to their club and the home side had eight winners in their 189-121 victory. Barnton bowlers Gill Rutter and Kate Price shared the best result 21-5.

Wharton Rec A had eight winners at Tarporley B, winning their match 126-196. Wharton bowler Linda Harding had the best result 21-5.

Crowton managed a maximum 10 winners in their home match against Meadowbank B. The final score was a resounding win 210-105 to Crowton, whose Phil Sidebotham had the best result 21-1.

Fern Villa BC B played their home game against Shavington B which they won 202-94. Sad to see that Shavington could only field eight players. Fern Villa bowler Frank Boyle had the best result 21-4.

Cuddington had eight home winners in their 190-164 victory against Owley Wood D. Owley bowler Paul Jones had the best result 21-7.

Winnington B played their home game against Winnington A. Unsurprisingly it was the away side who won the match 163-209. Winnington A bowler Barbara Allan had the best result 21-8.

Section Four

Davenham C made the ‘trip’ to play against Davenham D. It was Davenham C that won the match 164-196. Davenham D bowler Mike Jestin had the best win 21-9.

Hartford B had three winners in their home game against Hartford A, losing the game 133-189. Hartford A bowler Stephen Blake had the best result 21-5.

Moulton RBL B had a full house winning all 10 games in their 210-132 home victory against Comberbach D. Moulton bowler Rebecca Carted had the best result 21-7.

Castle Sports E had seven winners in their home match against Barnton CC D, leading them to a 186-179 success. Barnton bowler Joan Bradshaw had the best result 21-7.

Sandbach Park B won their home match against Rudheath Bowls C 177-164 despite only having four home winners. Sandbach bowler Tess Atkinson had the best result 21-2.

Norley had six winners in their very close game against Owley Wood E. It was Owley Wood who walked away with a 164-169 win and it was Owley bowler Martin Gerrard that had the best result 21-5.

Mid Cheshire Ladies Division one

Barnton A had six winners in their home match against Norley and won 162-123. Norley bowler Beryl Ryder had the best result 21-6.

Lady Owls A won their home match against Barrow Ladies 132-125. Barrow bowler Debbie Williams had the best result 21-5.

Castle Ladies welcomed Winnington Ladies to their green. Castle had six winners in their 160-109 victory. Castle bowler Wendy Allen had the best result 21-9.

Moulton Ladies and Barnton B each had four winners in their match. Away team Barnton just took the win 126-138.

Division Two

Hartford had seven winners in their 166-96 home victory against Cuddington Ladies, with Hartford bowler Olive Pass having the best result 21-2.

Crowton Ladies won their home game 163-128 against Davenham Ladies. Crowton bowler Beverley Barton had the best result 21-9.

Lady Owls B had six winners in their home game against Rudheath SSC. The home side took the victory 144-87, with Lady Owls bowler Holly Nagle having the best result 21-2.

Bostock Ladies lost a close home match to Rode Heath 130-137. Rode Heath bowlers Joan Pugh and Marilyn Lloyd shared the best result 21-6.
