DAVENHAM Cricket Club under 14s are celebrating after clinching the Cheshire Cup.
They lifted the prestigious John North Cup with a 19-run victory over Timperley in the final at Butcher’s Stile, showcasing one of the strongest cricket pathways in Mid Cheshire.
Their journey to the title included wins against Macclesfield, Toft, and Stockport Georgians.
In the final, Davenham set a total of 119 for 5 from 20 overs.
Captain Jack Aubrey led from the front with a composed 35 not out, while James Collins helped build a 52-run opening stand.
Contributions from Milo Reeves, Harry Webb and the middle order gave the team a strong finish.
Timperley started confidently in their chase, but Davenham’s bowlers quickly took control with early breakthroughs.
Harley Taylor and James Collins delivered particularly effective spells, ensuring Timperley never gained momentum.
Wickets fell regularly, and Timperley were ultimately bowled out for 100, falling 19 runs short of the target.
The win marked a special moment for the young side.
After the heartbreak of two Cheshire final defeats in recent seasons, players, coaches, and supporters celebrated their long-awaited success.
