An Antrobus Golf Club trio came out on top in the Cheshire Junior Team Championships.

Alsager took an early lead in the competition at Lymm Golf Club, with two of their teams posting 76 points.

The trio of Fergus Clare, Ted Myatt and Aiden Percy, with a massive individual score of 46 being the top individual score of the day, led the way.

But they were overtaken by the Antrobus team of William Lavender, William Corby and Henry Williams-Eden with 78.

It was touch and go as the last team, Bromborough, came in but they fell just one short of Antrobus.

In the individual competition, Percy’s 46 was followed by Corby 41 and Jimmy Brennan of Alsager, 40.

The winners will go forward to represent Cheshire in the county team finals later in the year.

For Antrobus it will be a new experience at this level having achieved their first major Cheshire victory.

Presentations were made by Cheshire president Marjorie Griffiths of Ringway Golf Club.
