Premier Division
LAST season’s fourth and sixth placed teams met in their first Premier match of the season at Crewe.
Crewe PO took charge of the match, taking nine of the 10 games winning comfortably 209-152 against Comberbach A.
Frodsham Red Lion A, who finished third last year, had a home game against Shavington A.
It was the home side that succeeded 208-118.
Rudheath Bowls travelled to Owley Wood A where the home side came out on top 186-166.
The two teams that were promoted from Section One last season were matched in their first fixture with Barnton A travelling to Victoria A. The home side ran out winners 204-136.
Castle Sports A made the short trip to Castle Sports B. In a close game, Castle A won the match 173-199.
Wharton Bowls Club A made the trip to Kingswood BC with the away side running out winners 163-197.
Section One
Castle Sports C hosted Castle sports D, with the C team winning 191-176.
You couldn’t ask for a closer match as Barton B played Victoria B, with both teams having five wins in a 180-180 draw.
On Friday, Crosstown were visited by Frodsham Red Lion B, the home side winning the game 198-162.
Comberbach B welcomed Rudheath Bowls B and achieved a 189-166 victory.
Moulton RBL A won a home match against Owley Wood B 187-143.
Meadowbank A claimed a success at Wharton Bowls Club B 181-190.
Section Three
Thursday gave us two games in Section three, Wharton Rec A 210-115 Tarporley B, Owley Wood D 162-152 Cuddington.
On to Friday and the remaining games in Section three, Winnington A 198-139 Winnington B, Delamere 172-169 Barnton CC C, Shavington B 161- 167 Fern Villa BC B, Meadow Bank B 104-205 Crowton.
Section Four
Thursday and three games in Section Four played, Davenham C 200-119 Davenham D, Rudheath Bowls C 169-135 Sandbach Park B, Comberbach D 167-186 Moulton RBL B.
Friday and there were another three matches, Barnton CC D 195-139 Castle S&SC E, Hartford A 191-129 Hartford B, Owley Wood 139-178 Norley.
Cheshire county match
Cheshire played their opening tie of 2026 against reigning champions Yorkshire.
Cheshire narrowly came out on top at home, winning by one point but lost away by 69 points.
