BARNTON AFC’s ‘Juve Day’ will be staged at their Townfield Lane ground on Saturday.

The Villagers have established a growing relationship with Serie A giants Juventus through their shared club colours, black and white.

As part of this exciting connection, Juventus sent a shirt to Townfield with Barnton FC 26 on the back, and The Villagers returned the gesture with a shirt for them featuring Juventus 26.

Now ‘Juve Day’ will celebrate the link-up, with anyone wearing a Barnton, Juventus, or any other black and white shirt will receive half-price entry to Saturday’s game against Shawbury United, kick-off 3pm.

There will be an Italian theme throughout the day, with pizzas, ice cream, and Italian drinks available.

Barnton AFC have gained international attention for their strong affinity with the two-times Champions League winners, earning the nickname ‘The Cheshire Juve’.

“The story began in 2023 when a former player commented on our black and white kit, saying we looked like the Cheshire Juve,” said Barnton chairman Dave Bryning.

“The club embraced the idea and launched a new home kit that year, inspired by Juventus.

“The concept quickly gained traction online, attracting the attention of Juventus fans and followers across social media.

“Juventus fans have travelled to watch Barnton play, and in return some of our committee members and supporters have made trips to Turin to watch Juventus.

“We’ve also embraced the famous Juventus motto “Fino Alla Fine” (Until the End), a phrase we regularly use throughout the club to inspire our players.”
