NORTHWICH Victoria FC are presenting ‘An evening with the legends’ at The Oaklands Hotel in Weaverham on Saturday, March 7.
The event will celebrate some of the club’s past players and managers, who will be in attendance.
Mark Ward, Steve Pickup, Jeff Swede and Brad Cooke will share some of their memories of their times at Vics.
They will also be updating everyone with what they have been doing in their lives since being with Vics.
Ward started his illustrious career at Vics in 1981 and was a member of the 1983 FA Vase Final team which narrowly lost against Telford United at Wembley.
He went on to play for Oldham Athletic, West Ham United, Everton and Birmingham City.
Former manager Pickup joined Vics as assistant manager to Steve Wilkes in 2017.
However he’ll be forever known as the man who stepped into the breach and took over as manager in 2023 and reformed the club after their controversial sideways transfer to join the Midland League, which left Vics with just one player.
Swede, who played an integral part in the great FA Cup run of the 1976/77 season scoring goals in the victories against both Peterborough and Watford.
He came to Vics’ first legends evening last year and was such a big hit with everyone that he has been invited back.
Ex-captain Cooke was a key member of the team that reached the semi final of the FA Vase in 2019, missing out on a place at Wembley on penalties to Chertsey Town.
All are welcome. Tickets are priced £20 which includes a hot buffet, while a bar will be available for drinks. The event is scheduled to start at 7pm.
