GYMNASTS from the area continue to make their mark at a high level.
Edie Coyle, a year 11 student at The County High School who trains at The Wire Gymnastics Club in Warrington, won a bronze medal in the Welsh Championships in Cardiff.
The 16-year-old’s success came in the vault, which is Coyle’s preferred piece of apparatus and the one in which she excels.
Edie will be competing this weekend at the English Championships in Telford.
Meanwhile, Hartford High School year 9 student Lilia Dunne was in great form at the North West Grades in Wigan, passing her development level 3 grades.
She finished second overall to take the silver in Cheshire and Merseyside, and was third overall in the north west to collect bronze.
“This is a huge achievement as she is the first at her club, Cheshire Gymnastics to achieve two overall medals at grades,” said Lilia’s mum, Hollie.
“A huge thank you to her coach Jasmine Evanson who constantly pushes Lilia to reach her full potential. We are incredibly proud.”
