TWO gymnasts are celebrating their recent success.

Lilia Dunne brought home six medals and a trophy from county and regional championships, while fellow Cheshire Gymnastics member Charlotte Taylor has achieved a first for the club.

Hartford High School student Lilia, 13, became the Cheshire and Merseyside overall champion in the women’s artistic copper category in Wigan and was just 0.5 off the north west overall title as she placed second.

She also received gold on bars for Cheshire and Merseyside and north west, as well as bronze in floor and vault for Cheshire and Merseyside.

Meanwhile, Charlotte, 10, made history at the club for being the first gymnast to pass her Excel grade in the elite pathway for gymnastics.

Coach Jasmine Evanson said: “I’m so proud of the girls, they have worked so hard and both have had different challenges along the way and overcome them with their commitment and determination.

“It’s also a reflection of a whole team approach with supportive parents, volunteer parent judges and a positive environment provided by Cheshire Gymnastics.”
