NORTHWICH achieved a pleasing 43-14 victory at Altrincham Kersal at the weekend.
The third win from four games leaves them fourth in the Regional 2 North West table ahead of hosting Burnage on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
With the torrential rain experienced on Friday there was some doubt as to whether the match at Kersal would take place.
However, the pitch was in good order and Blacks were pleased to welcome Gihard Visagie back to the squad in what was almost a full-strength team.
Northwich were on the scoreboard after five minutes when Byron Read took an inside pass off man-of-the-match Toby Moss to score an unconverted try.
Ten minutes later Zac Richardson scored the first of his two tries and added the conversion.
It was then the turn of Nat Stafford, who crossed for two tries in the space of five minutes to secure the bonus point.
The first came from a lineout when Moss fed the ever-present Rory Leijdekkers who in turn provided Stafford with the scoring pass.
The second also came from a lineout and following a good build-up Stafford found the gap.
With Richardson converting the first, Northwich had raced to a 25-point lead.
The next few minutes belonged to AK as they put Blacks under extreme pressure and were rewarded with a deserved converted try.
As the half came to a close Levy Nzoungou went on a charge and found Tim Balogun whose neat footwork and pace took him to the line for a try converted by Richardson.
After AK pinned Northwich deep inside their own half for the opening 10 minutes of the second half, solid defence and commitment kept them at bay.
The pressure was relieved when Richardson broke away to score.
Blacks scored their seventh and final try when, from a lineout, Damola Ayanlaja-Lowo went on a charge that proved to be unstoppable.
AK committed to attack and their efforts were rewarded with the last try.
