THREE members of Sandiway Golf Club distinguished themselves on the national stage recently.

The trio of Jane Burke, Alison Hunt and Barbara Laird represented Cheshire in the Ladies Club Championship at the City of Newcastle GC where they played against 24 other Counties over two rounds.

The Sandiway team were chosen to represent Cheshire after winning the 2024 Elisabeth Wilson Trophy.

Each team consisted of three players with the best two of three scores to count over the two rounds.

Scores of 75 and 83 and 84 and 84 gave Sandiway a total of 326, which took them into 15th place.

The winners were Bishop Stortford with an impressive 293, which left them one over par and six shots clear of North Hants GC.
