Men’s Mid Cheshire Crown Green Bowling League:
IN the Premier, Castle Sports A maintained top spot with a maximum at Owley Wood B.
The section leaders won 124-210.
Wharton Cons A, in second place, did all they could to close the gap at the top with a maximum of their own, beating Helsby A 210-83.
Third-placed Frodsham Red Lion A edged a win at Castle Sports B, 184-185.
Crewe PO, in fourth, closed the gap to Frodsham to 49 points with a home win against Owley Wood A 207-149.
Fifth-placed Rudheath Bowls A lost at sixth-placed Comberbach A 200-164.
Shavington A achieved their first maximum of the season, beating Victoria B 210-135.
Victoria A continued their dominance of Section One with a maximum at home, beating Tarporley A 210-79.
Third-placed Barnton CC A lost at Castle Sports C 182-162.
Kingswood BC needed to score over 162 to increase their lead in second place, but they lost at Middlewich RBL A 189-146.
Fourth-placed Meadowbank closed the gap on the two teams above, winning at home to Comberbach B 185-156.
Frodsham Red Lion B, in fifth spot, had a good home win against Rudheath Bowls B 203-153, while Crosstown defeated Wharton Cons B 188 at home.
Moulton RBL, who hold the top spot in Section Two, won at home to Shavington B 202-135.
Second-placed Barnton CC B overcame the side below them, Winsford Cons B, 190-129.
Fourth-placed Sandbach Park A defeated Middlewich RBL B 192-113, while fifth-placed Castle Sports D won at Kelsall 158-180.
Davenham A, in sixth position, lost at Winsford Cons A 203-132 and Helsby B won at home against Lk Graylams 169-161.
In Section Three, leaders Comberbach C had their bye this week.
Second-placed Owley Wood D won at Tarporley B 150-186.
Davenham B won 186-173 at home against Sandbach Park B to maintain third spot.
Fourth-placed Wharton Rec A bagged a great home win against fifth-placed Barnton CC C 196-127.
Owley Wood C had a home win against Hartford A 194-145, while Winnington A lost at home to Crowton 157-187.
Section Four leaders Cuddington sealed a great win at Comberbach D 148-199.
Winnington B, in second place, were beaten at fourth-placed Rudheath Bowls C 192-158.
Third-placed Davenham C had a big home win against Norley A 205-89.
Castle Sports E squeezed over the line at Owley Wood E 165-167.
Barnton CC D won at home 204-121 against Davenham D, while Moulton RBL B won at Hartford B 170-202.
Mid Cheshire Ladies:
In Division One, table toppers Red Lion Ladies remain unbeaten thanks to a win at Barnton A 117-160.
Second-placed Castle Ladies kept up the chase, winning at Rudheath SSC 92-163.
Third-placed Winnington Ladies narrowly came through a home match against Norley 150-145.
Lady Owls had a home win against Barnton B 152-109, while Davenham Ladies had a good home win against Bunbury 150-97.
In Division Two, Barrow Ladies extended their lead at the top with a maximum score, winning 168-72 at home to Cuddington Ladies.
Moulton Ladies, in second place, are the only team who remain unbeaten in this division after a win at Hartford 134-148.
Crowton Ladies stayed in touch of the top two with a home win against Rode Heath 145-119.
Bostock Ladies had a very close loss at home to Lady Owls B 134-136.
