WINNINGTON Park produced the goods when it mattered the most, putting relegation fears to bed.
The 52-31 victory in their final game of the season at Altrincham Kersal on Saturday ensured they will continue to play their rugby in Regional 2 North West alongside Northwich RUFC next season.
The coaches felt it was an impressive display, with the whole team putting in a performance of the season which is what was needed.
They needed a win or at least two points to be safe and ended the campaign four points clear of the bottom two, leaving Crewe & Nantwich and Eccles relegated.
Park did it the hard way though as they trailed 21-7 at one stage in the first half. But they got their noses in front 28-21 by the interval and never went behind again.
Alex De Keyser crossed twice, one of which was a 90-metre effort, with other tries coming from Chris Twigg, Jack Williams, Lewis Pickering, Genesis Luli and Dan Williams, while Cameron Flanagan added the successful kicks.

Meanwhile, the curtain came down on Northwich RUFC’s 2024/25 campaign with a 26-19 home win against Lancaster’s Vale of Lune.
It proved to be an entertaining Regional 2 North West match which went down to the wire.
Blacks welcomed Tom White, Tom Husbands, Harry Naylor and Tom Clark back into the team and started brightly.
They established a 19-5 lead in the first half and 12 minutes after the interval Clark, following his season-long absence, scored a fine try to wrap up Northwich’s account.
But VoL fought back and Blacks desperately hung on in the last 20 minutes.
Northwich’s other try scorers were Curtis Finnigan, Rory Leijdekkers and White.
The team played well and climbed one place on the table, ending a tough season in eighth spot.
