ONE family is celebrating a rare moment that will be long treasured.

Three generations of the Stackhouses played alongside each other in the same match.

Alfie Stackhouse, 16, his dad Paul, 40, and his grandfather John, 64, all lined up for Winnington Park Hockey Club men’s second team recently when they played against Alderley Edge.

And what’s more, they helped the side achieve a 4-0 win!

Alfie is only in his first season, starting off last year in the Badgers youth side before quickly moving into the men’s third team and then taking the next step up for the clash against Alderley Edge.

John has played at the club for more than 50 years and has also represented England B and England LX at over 60s level, having the opportunity to play in many countries and against some of the top players. He has also played for North of England Veterans.

Paul is also vastly experienced, having played for over 28 years at the club and in the first team from the age of 15.

He represented Cheshire’s under 21s in his younger years.

All three are hoping for many more games together in the near future and were extremely proud to play alongside one another for the first time.
