NORTHWICH RUFC delivered an early Christmas present, their best performance of the season so far with a 34-0 home win against Altrincham Kersal.
Levy Nzoungou and Curtis Finnigan were welcomed back into the side and they helped to provide a strong forward platform for the backs to express themselves.
Blacks went on the offensive in the opening minutes and were rewarded with a converted try following a sustained attack finished off by the versatile Jack Owens, who was in the back row. Tom Husbands added the extras.
The rest of the half was an arm wrestle with AK enjoying much of the territory and possession and, but for some committed defending, they could have squared the match by half time.
Whatever was said at the break had the desired effect as Northwich began to take control.
On the 60th minute a Harry Naylor penalty extended the Northwich lead.
Man-of-the-match Oscal Malik began to control things with some excellent kicking and the ability to ignite the backs.
A kick was gathered by Tsatsane Boitumelo who made a break and fed Richard Dale to score an unconverted try.
Five minutes later an attacking lineout was driven by Blacks, Tom White peeled off and in the process of being tackled he fed Patrick Douglas who crossed the line for Harry Naylor to convert.
Northwich were on the rampage as they scored another try in the corner that was again converted by Naylor, providing an elusive bonus point for Northwich.
Blacks were still not done and Boitumelo recovered a kick and went almost 60 metres to score a well deserved try.
It was a stirring performance and a total team effort with all players putting their bodies on the line to get their campaign on the way.
Blacks take a short break over Christmas but will be well prepared for all that 2025 has instore.
Next up for Northwich is the visit to Burnage on Saturday, January 4, kick-off 2.15pm.
