COULD we be hearing plenty more about these two talented Winsford footballers in years to come?
Already, the success Louie Blow and Elliot Mitchell have enjoyed together has earned them the nickname of “The Winsford Wall” in their first tournament with the Stoke City academy.
High Street Primary School pupil Louie and Elliot, who attends St Joseph’s Primary School, are both eight years old and having played together for Winsford Town Knights and FFF Sports, they were both signed up by Stoke to join their under 9s team over the summer.
Over the weekend, they turned out for their new club at the Premier League Welcome Festival and helped them to an impressive campaign, winning five matches and losing just two.
With Louie and Elliot playing together in a defence that conceded just four times in 10 matches – hence the “Winsford Wall” moniker – Stoke beat teams from Manchester City, Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Wolves and Middlesbrough in the tournament at Loughborough University.
