THURSDAY brought us the last rearranged Mid-Cheshire League fixture from the harsh weather – Kingswood, at home, just managed the win against Helsby 180-176.

On Friday, Frodsham Red Lion maintained their unbeaten streak, winning away from home on the artificial green of Helsby – Frodsham had six winners in the score of 192-164.

Castle Sports A – the only other unbeaten Premier team – travelled to Crewe PO and it was a good night for the Crewe team, who had eight winners with just the two for Castle for a final score of 197-172.

Wharton Cons A had a good night at home, only having one loser in their match against Middlewich CBC and winning the game 203-99.

Only three teams that have won all their games in the Mid Cheshire League – Frodsham Red Lion A, Victoria in Section Two and Comberbach C in Section Four.

The Littler Cup semi-finals will be on June 4, with Wharton Cons A playing Lk Graylams at Middlewich RBL. The second semi-final between Rudheath A and Barnton Cricket Club A will be at Hartford.

The Mid-Cheshire Federation team play their third match on Sunday against Barnsley. Mid Cheshire need another victory to improve their chances of grabbing one of the top two spots to go into the First Division.

The home tie will be at Post Office Club in Crewe, with the match will start at 2pm after practices starting at 12.45. Mid Cheshire Fed would appreciate any support on the day so if you are at a loss and want to watch excellent quality bowls, please come and watch.

Division One of the Norley League has three teams who have won each of their three games, unsurprisingly they hold the top three spots – Wharton Cons hold the top spot, Owleywood A are holding second with Castle Sports A in third.

Davenham Rec A are leading Division Two just ahead of Crewe PO while Middlewich RBL B are leading Division Three, with Delamere in second place.

Division Four has Barnton CC B at the top of the table and Winnington Park B are leading in Division Five.

Meanwhile, after a long day of bowling, Nicola Boulton and Adam Penlington came through a quality field to win the Owleywood Mixed Pairs competition, winning the final 21-17 against Lynsey Gorman and Jamie Box.

Nicola also reached the final of the Mid-Cheshire Ladies Merit at Tarvin and was just edged out 21-20 by Sue Worrall.

Both players go through to represent Mid-Cheshire Ladies at the All England in Cumbria while Sue will also represent Mid-Cheshire in the Ladies Champion of Champions at Owley Wood in September.
