CAN Winnington Park Hockey Club’s women’s firsts complete a remarkable perfect season today?
With the league title secure, they host Eirias in their final game of the season looking to maintain their 100 per cent record.
They had a brief scare in their game at Deeside Ramblers last weekend, falling a goal behind early before storming back to win 6-1.
Jaz Barlow scored four goals including a first-half hat-trick, with Loz Miller and skipper Rhona Logie also on target.
The women’s seconds still have an outside chance of winning their league, though they will need to beat Warrington in their final game to keep their hopes alive.
They drew 1-1 with a very physical Crewe side having come from behind, with Izzy Warrener scoring Park’s equaliser from a short corner.
The men’s seconds were 3-0 victors over Alderley Edge, with goals coming from Harry Garner, Mark Haffenden and Robbie Bowden.
Unfortunately, the men’s firsts were on the end of their heaviest defeat of the season as they fell 8-3 at league leaders Bebbington. Matt Wylie, Joe Corless and Nathan Gee were on target for Park.
The men’s thirds were also beaten 5-0 away at Macclesfield.
