NORTHWICH RUFC were beaten 57-0 at York on Saturday, but the scoreline does not perhaps tell the full story.
Throughout the game, Blacks played with adventure and made things very difficult for their hosts.
However, they could not convert that pressure into points and once York raised their game, they went through the gears and their quality told.
They had too much pace in the backs, physicality in the forwards and overall organisation for the visitors.
In turn, Blacks got on the wrong side of the referee on a number of occasions and conceded too many penalties which relieved pressure on York when they were attacking.
They trailed 31-0 at the break and the hosts completed a dominant scoreline after the break.
Northwich, who are adrift at the bottom of the North Premier table, finish the season with games against the division’s top two sides.
They travel to leaders Otley on Saturday before hosting second-placed Preston Grasshoppers on April 23.
