HAVING already secured promotion and the league title, Winnington Park’s all-conquering men’s second team are on the verge of perfection.

They are just one game away from completing a blemish-free season of 20 wins from as many games, making them the most successful team in the north west this season.

A trip to Macclesfield’s third on Saturday in their final game of the season will see them aim to finish off a memorable season in fitting style.

They had a double victory this weekend, with Deeside Ramblers and Crewe both falling victim to this dominant group.

Deeside were thrashed 5-0 at The Grange, with Dec Lamb and Harrison Austin both scoring twice before George Gray rounded off the scoring.

Lamb and Austin scored twice again the following day as they went one goal better, beating Crewe 6-0 away from home.

Liam McKee had opened the scoring for Park, with Gray once again completing the rout.

Meanwhile, the women’s firsts were beaten 2-1 by Chester’s seconds after Shandy Moloney-Pugh had sent them into the half-time break level.

However, Park could not recover after Chester had retaken the lead from a short corner.

The men’s firsts were unable to half in-form Bebington’s momentum in their match, with the visitors running out 5-1 winners.

The Winnington Park juniors were victorious, however, as they won 3-2 away at Chester.
