GREG Hall’s first-half red card proved costly for Witton Albion as they lost to play-off hopefuls Whitby Town this afternoon.
The Albion goalkeeper brought down the onrushing Bradley Fewster before the break and was shown red, leaving substitute keeper Raj Gill to man the posts.
Second-half goals from Jacob Hazel and Josh MacDonald secured victory for the visitors.
In the NPL West Division, 1874 Northwich succumbed to title-chasing Marine on Merseyside.
The only goal of the game came just after the half-hour mark courtesy of Luke Clark.
In the North West Counties League, Barnton ended their seven-match winless run by beating Stockport County 2-0 at home.
Amir Hajri was the Villagers’ hero, netting both goals at Townfield.
Northwich Victoria and Winsford United meet at the U Lock It Stadium tomorrow.
