DESPITE coming back from two goals down at one stage, 1874 Northwich slipped to their sixth game without a win this afternoon.

Connor Millington’s second-half goal secured a 3-2 win for hosts Bootle, who are still harbouring hopes of a play-off place in the Northern Premier League West Division.

That came after 1874 had recovered from a nightmare start which saw then fall 2-0 down inside the first 10 minutes.

Goals from Scott McGowan and Lucas Weir sent them in level at half time after Ben Hodkinson and Tom Peterson had given Bootle the perfect start.

Meanwhile, Northwich Victoria were held to a goalless draw at home by Runcorn Town in the North West Counties League in a game that saw both sides have men sent off in the first half.

A skirmish just after the half-hour mark saw Vics forward Luke Sephton and Runcorn’s Richie Foulkes dismissed, and neither side could force a winner after the break.

Barnton were beaten in the NWCFL First Division South, losing 2-0 at home to Cheadle Town.

The result now means the Villagers have gone six games without a win in all competitions.
