WINNINGTON Park Hockey Club will bring back their popular “Back to Hockey” sessions in the new year.

The club will run a course of six sessions on Thursday evenings between 7pm and 8pm at The Grange, starting on January 20.

The sessions are led by Tony Taig, who has represented England at O-60 level, and include age-appropriate warm-ups and an overview of all the basic skills of hockey before ending with a friendly game.

The sessions are suitable for any age but are aimed at adults who have either played hockey in the past but feel a bit too rusty to be confident joining in senior hockey, or who have little or no experience at all of playing but would like to have a go.

The course costs £30 – to secure your spot, click HERE to complete the Google form.

Alternatively, existing members can edit their membership category for 2021-22 to “Back to Hockey.

If you're not already a club member, visit the club website and click “Join.” When asked, complete your membership details and choose “Back to Hockey” as your membership category.

In terms of the senior teams, promotion beckons for the men’s second team as their final game of 2021 saw them extend their perfect start to 10 wins from 10.

They were 4-1 victors over Crewe in a rearranged match, with Adam Jones scoring twice for Park to go with further goals from Mark Leigh and Liam Mckee while Harlie Stokes was named man of the match for an impressive display in defence.
