LIAM Mckee had a hectic yet fruitful day in the colours of Winnington Park Hockey Club at the weekend.

He played in two games, scoring five goals in helping two of the club’s men’s sides to victory.

First, he turned out for the seconds away at Deeside and scored Park’s second goal after Robin Bowden had given them the lead.

Harrison Austin added a third and despite the hosts reducing the deficit to a single goal, Sean Morley’s goal restored calm and secured a 4-2 win.

Mckee then dashed back to play for the thirds in their home game against Triton.

He had netted a hat-trick before half time and added one more after the break to seal a 4-1 win to make it eight wins from as many games for the thirds.

Meanwhile, Loz Miller scored the winner with just two minutes remaining as the women’s firsts beat Chester seconds 2-1.

She struck from a short corner after the sides had gone into the break level at 1-1, with Shandy Moloney-Pugh on target for the hosts.

The shoe was on the other foot for the men’s firsts, who suffered late heartbreak at Bebbington.

Both sides created chances throughout the match, but the hosts won it 1-0 with almost the last hit of the game.

There were mixed fortunes for the club’s junior teams – the Beaver Blues won 3-1 against Macclesfield while the Beaver Whites lost 1-0 to Bowdon.
