IT is another busy weekend of football for our teams as we look ahead to tomorrow’s action…

Witton Albion are on the road and face one of the toughest trips the Northern Premier League has to offer.

Carl Macauley’s men head to Silverlands to take on third-place Buxton, who are unbeaten at home this season.

The Bucks have won six and drawn two of their eight league games and also have the division’s best defensive record having conceded just 13 times.

However, trying to alter that will be bang-in-form Albion striker Callum Saunders, who broke a club record last time out having scored in his ninth consecutive league game.

He is also the joint-top goalscorer in the league with 11 goals – level with Radcliffe’s Bobby Grant.

In the West Division, 1874 Northwich’s bid to continue their impressive recent form sees them welcome struggling Widnes to Townfield.

Greens bounce into the game on a run of one defeat in six having ruined Trafford’s unbeaten home record last time out.

By contrast, the visitors have lost their past five league games but gave leaders Marine an almighty fright last time out, threatening a late comeback from 3-0 down before eventually losing 3-2.

Into the North West Counties League and a huge crowd is expected to descend on Wincham Park this afternoon as Northwich Victoria host promotion hopefuls Macclesfield.

The visitors are averaging home crowds of well over 2,000 this season and are expected to bring a large travelling support to Northwich.

However, Vics may be heartened by the Silkmen’s patchy away record – they have won four of their 10 away matches but have won 9 of 10 at home.

With Steve Wilkes’ side winning three of their past four games, they may well fancy their chances of getting a result.

Meanwhile, Winsford United will look to shake off the loss of star striker Joe Duckworth when they travel to Irlam.

Duckworth – scorer of 15 goals in 25 games for Blues this season – has jumped up two divisions to join FC United of Manchester but leaves behind a team unbeaten in eight games.

They face the side directly below them in the Premier Division table – both are on 29 points but Winsford are a place higher in 11th due to a better goal difference.

In the First Division South, Barnton are aiming to halt a three-game losing run that has seen them dragged towards the bottom of the table.

Liam Page’s men travel to Ellesmere Rangers, who ended their own three-match losing streak last time out.
