THERE was plenty of success on home water for Northwich Rowing Club at their annual Autumn Head race.

Cheered on by a large crowd on the banks of the River Weaver enjoying the fine weather, the club had 12 wins overall across all age groups.

Charley Sunley was the fastest junior sculler of the day, clocking a time of 9mins 22secs in the J18 age group.

Cara Brook won the junior women’s J17 category with a time of 10mins 32 secs, while there were also some notable wins in the older age groups.

Zee Hardisty kept up her unbeaten record for Autumn Head races by winning the women’s masters singles while Simon Crouchley and Andy Malins did the same in the masters doubles.

The next event in the club calendar is the junior GB trials before Liverpool’s Head of the Float next month.
