ANOTHER busy weekend is on the horizon for our football teams.

Witton Albion have a weekend off having been knocked out of the FA Trophy but 1874 Northwich, Northwich Victoria, Winsford United and Barnton are all in action.

1874 are on the road as co-managers Paul Bowyer and Wayne Goodison take their side to Glossop North End looking to continue their promising recent form.

Three of their past four Northern Premier League West Division matches have yielded maximum points, including a 1-0 home win over Ramsbottom United last time out.

They visit a Glossop side that have won just twice in the league this season, although one of those was a 2-1 win at Bootle in their last outing.

In the North West Counties League, Northwich Victoria take their red-hot goalscoring form to Liverpool to take on Lower Breck looking for a third straight win.

Steve Wilkes' side plundered 11 goals in victories over Ashton Athletic and Barnoldswick Town this week and visit a Breck side who have been up-and-down, with eight wins and nine losses so far this season.

Another side bang in form are Winsford, who welcome Longridge Town to Barton Stadium on Saturday in another Premier Division fixture

Indeed, only third-place Wythenshawe Town and fourth-place Charnock Richard are in better form over the past six games than Lee Duckworth's Blues, who have won four and drawn two in that period.

Saturday's visitors have had a mixed season, with results fluctuating as they struggle for consistency.

In the First Division South, the similarities on paper between Barnton and their next visitors are remarkable.

Cammell Laird arrive at Townfield with both sides sat next to each other on 20 points, with the Villagers sat highest in 14th by virtue of a better goal difference.

Both teams are also coming into the game looking to shake off 4-0 midweek home defeats – Liam Page's men were beaten by Maine Road on Wednesday while Laird were hammered by Abbey Hey 24 hours earlier.
