WITTON Albion endured an evening to forget at Matlock Town this evening.

Heading to Derbyshire with back-to-back wins under their belt, Carl Macauley's side suffered a humiliating 9-0 defeat.

Albion were 3-0 down inside the first quarter of the game and although they avoided further damage until half time, they collapsed in the second half.

Liam Hughes netted a hat-trick for Matlock, with substitute Jesurun Uchegbulam scoring twice.

Callum Chippendale, Reece Kendle and Alex Byrne also scored for the hosts while Albion's Will Sutton put through his own net.

Meanwhile, 1874 Northwich ended their losing run by drawing 1-1 with Newcastle Town at Townfield.

On his 300th appearance for the club, skipper Matt Woolley's late equaliser allowed 74 to come away with a point after Tommy van der Laan had given the visitors the lead.
