LEIGH Hadfield has showed up superbly against some of the best archers in the country.

The Winnington Park Bowmen member enjoyed a very successful National Tour, which saw him compete all over the country in the recurve category.

After qualifying for the knockout stages at each event, Hadfield made it through the quarter finals and into the head-to-head shoots, only to be knocked out by the eventual overall winner.

As a result, he is now ranked 18th in the UK and has been selected to represent Cheshire at the 5 Counties shoot next month.

That formed part of a busy summer for Hadfield, who also won gold and silver at the Cheshire County shoot.

More Winnington Park members have also been in good form, with Amanda Rose securing a trophy at Stage One of the National Tour series in her debut outdoor season in the barebow category.

She also shot well at the Cheshire County shoot and has been gaining personal bests and club records throughout the summer.

Michelle Oakes also competed in all stages of the National Tour and is now ranked 32nd while she also gained two medals at the county shoot.
