NORTHWICH Vics started the game off on the front foot, as in the first minute Joe Camozzi put in a lovely cross which was brought down well by Josh Winder but his shot bobbled wide of the post.

An even better chance came their way in the 5th minute as a mix up in the Litherland defence led to Ryan Winder setting up Matty Clarke who blazed over from 6 yards with the goal at his mercy.

However Vics did take the lead they deserved in the 16th minute as Ryan Winder's delightful chipped cross was controlled well by his brother Josh , who stepped inside his man and curled a fantastic effort into the top right of the goal.

A back-garden training move for a winderful goal ! Vics were well in control of the match with Litherland rarely threatening. Christian Mather and Matty Clarke both had chances before in the 25th minute Matty Birchall was pulled down in the area as he broke through the defence, and Vics were awarded a penalty.

Litherland defender, Andrew Harper was sent off for the foul as well to compound Litherland's miseries. Birchall stepped up, but O'Loughlin dived low to his right to pull off a good save .

The match then fell into a lull for the rest of the half, as Vics seemed more unsettled by the sending off than Litherland but they rarely threatened with Misambo dealing well with the pace of Tom Hilditch who was their only outlet.

Josh Winder did well in the 40th minute to create a chance as he latched onto a through ball and cleverly dinked the ball over his marker before firing a shot just wide, and then in the final minute of the half Clarke had a long range shot off target.

HALF-TIME : Litherland 0 Northwich Vics 1.

Vics changed the formation round in the second half with Chad Whyte coming on for the already booked Matty Clarke, but it was Litherland who had the first chance as Hogan Ako did well down the right and cut inside but dragged his shot just wide.

However it was Vics forcing the pace still and they increased their lead in the 56th minute as Chad Whyte brilliantly brought down a cross , turned and fired a shot into the top corner of the net .

Then almost immediately from the restart, it was that man Whyte again, this time robbing the ball from the last defender and easily slotting the ball past O'Loughlin to give Vics a 3 goal lead.

Litherland's cause was then not helped by the sin-binning of their most dangerous player, Tom Hilditch for dissent to take them down to 9 men for 10 minutes.

Vics took advantage as Ash Dunn intercepted a poor ball across the Litherland back line, and slammed the ball home to make it 4. The match now had the air of a training session now.

In the 69th minute, Ryan Winder just failed to capitalise on a tremendous cross from Jack Fleming as he was free at the back post, whilst Chad Whyte had a curling effort well saved by the keeper.

Vics should have had a fifth in the final minutes as Matty Birchall raced through one on one on the keeper but uncharistically slipped the ball wide of the goal .

An all to easy win for the Vics who never really needed to extend themselves too much. 3 points is 3 points on a day when the top 3 all dropped points.
